Thanks to Peter for sending me these videos from Yourtango. Liz Tucillo, a former Sex and the City writer, came to Rio as a part of a series on single life around the world and discussed butts and tongues with Cariocas. I'm not sure how I feel about these videos, but they certainly help sustain some stereotypes gringos have of Brazilians. Click here for the second video.

Although I am a "Sex and the City" fan, the show promoted a lot of stereotypes. Each character represented a different stereotypical American woman. Anyone who watched the show and thought that it represented life for the average woman in America (even in NYC) would be sadly mistaken. However, if it did represent average life, it wouldn't have been a hit. People everywhere love over the top entertainment.
