I promise to write a nice, detailed entry about my Carnaval experience yesterday. But first, let's see the professional pictures and some fun stories.
- BBC covered the event, which talks about the Viradouro controversy and the schools' themes. By the way, Viradouro had a float representing censorship to protest the court's decision to ban the Holocaust float.
- BBC also has some great photos. Check them out on BBC's photo page here.
- Thanks to my mom for these NYT stories. This one is about preparation for Carnaval and Carioca women's obsession with getting toned butts before Carnaval. (NOTE: Carioca women are always obsessed with their asses. This is not news)
- This doesn't really have to do with Carnaval, but is about the growing disparity between Brazil and Argentina and how Argentines are starting to realize that the monster in their backyard has way overtaken them economically. (NOTE: I reported on Lula's comment about the World Cup way back when he actually said it)
Big post coming shortly.
