Why call it price gouging? If people are still willing to pay that much and still fill them to capacity it's obviously the right price. Actually lower than the right price. That's how much a hotel room is worth to consumers.


Marcus - its called price gouging because while it might make the hotel lots of money in the short term, in the long term it will turn away many people.

Are you aware that Rio and Brazil generally is now more expensive to visit than many parts of Europe?

The EU delegation to Rio +20 has just cancelled its visit - guess why? Extortionate prices.
